Feeling Stuck? How To Find The Resources You Need To Get Unstuck

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Don’t you hate feeling stuck?  We all do!  And it happens, no magic pill to get around it.

Especially when you are feeling the need to move forward and do some amazing things for your life or your business, being stuck is no fun.

So what I want to do is be able to help you think through a process of finding resources and getting yourself unstuck when you are feeling stuck. Yes, it would be great if there was always a coach or someone there to walk you through a process when you feel stuck but I want to give you another alternative that you can use by yourself.  So you can identify with the feelings of being stuck and decide to take action.

Have you ever been through an experience where you had to catch yourself and autocorrect because that was the first time you went through it may have thrown you off guard but you survived. Like skidding off the road accidentally. Now because you’ve been through that experience you are better prepared for the next time to know how to maneuver yourself back on the road without jerking the wheel around. Because now you know how to autocorrect.

Same deal here, I want to show you how to correct yourself without needing the assistance of someone else when you are feeling stuck because you have been through it before and now have a way to get yourself moving again.

On my podcast this week, we did some coaching this week with a  business owner along with a mindset and marketing coach that is in my circle.  She wasn't completely stuck but had some small areas where she was stuck with regard to her mindset and marketing but there were still some things to move her through.  It was exciting! Listen and see.....

You can continue reading or simply watch the video below for blog content.

Let’s get ourselves unstuck!

Tip #1
Do a checkup from the neck up!

You want to identify with this stuck feeling and acknowledge it.  Make sure to get in a quiet space so that you can hear yourself think. Put down the social media and the cell phone and just focus on who you are and where you’re at.

Make sure that you are aware of what created that feeling of being stuck in the first place. Roll back through your memories and try to identify when you first started feeling that feeling and what created it. That is important because it can help clue you in to what the need is that will help to get you unstuck.

Tip #2
Assess what’s currently working in your business/life and what’s not

Now this does require you to exercise a high level of honesty. You need to be honest with yourself to identify the things that are working well and those are the things you would like to continue. Please identify those first so that your energy level will be high as you are reviewing the things that are not working well later. You will draw on that energy to help you be in a place of openness.

You want to be at the highest possible point for your energy so that you will be able to look at the things that are not working well objectively and honestly. Make sure that you are documenting everything that you are frustrated or overwhelmed about.  Keep both list as you will be referring back to them both.

The positive things that are working well are the things that will drive your energy and then the other things that are not going so well are the things that you will need to work on by selecting something on that list to get you unstuck.

Tip # 3
Find the top gun!

When you make the list of things that are not working well, you don’t want to work on all of them at once. Or not even several of them at once. The list helps to put in perspective where you are and where you need to go.  You only want to select the one thing from that list that is the top gun for you to work on to get you unstuck.

I would prefer it be a moneymaking activity but if it feels more comfortable for you right now to do something that is not moneymaking but a simpler task that will get you moving again, go right ahead. The object is to get you unstuck by taking action. Whatever you do on the list, keep in mind that it will help you to move forward in life or business either way, whether moneymaking or not.

And lastly Tip # 4
Let your actions run the day!

You are doing all of this so you can take action and become unstuck. Most of the time when people are stuck, they are paralyzed. We are wanting to eradicate your paralysis and make things happen for you in your life or your business.

This will always be my final tip for everything you read from me because without action nothing happens. The reason you’re stuck is because you had a plan and for some reason fell off the path of that plan. Taking action is the only thing that will get you back on your plan and moving forward.

Does being stuck sometime involve your not having enough time to complete things? Well I have just the right resource that can help you with that!

Sign up for my four-part video series on how to take control of your calendar so it doesn’t control you so that you can be primed for productivity. Hey, that’s what it’s called, “Primed For Productivity“.

How To Trust You – Stop Doubting Yourself!

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Are you aware of the amount of decisions that we make per day?

When you Google for that information, it will give you some alarming statistics concerning the amount of decisions, large and small, that we as individuals make every day. The result was shocking for me. Go ahead and try it and see.

The point I am making is that we are always making decisions that affect our life or business and the lives of others in some way. And you would think that after doing this for over 50 years that I would be pretty darn good at it, don’t you think? But that is not always the case.

Yes, I have gotten really good at making some decisions and I feel really comfortable making them for myself and weighing the outcome. I have really worked hard over the years to get to know me at a deeper level so I could make better decisions.

But what I’ve learned, in talking to a lot of people, is that so many people don’t really, really know themselves well enough to feel sure when they are making decisions.  They are doubtful about whether it’s the right decision or not.

You can continue reading or simply watch the video below for blog content.

We as women have to learn to trust ourselves enough to know when we are making smart moves and good decisions. And I will share with you today some ways to tap into yourself and become more closely attuned to who you are so that you don’t struggle when having to make decisions.  So you can stop doubting yourself!

I talked about that in my podcast this week where I openly shared my struggles with being able to trust myself confidently over the past year.  It has been a long journey for sure.

In my opinion, the main issue is that we have so much information coming at us on a daily basis and people are sharing so freely that we have a lot of choices. Because we have so many choices it puts us in a state of indecisiveness.

So, we’re looking at this person over here and we are looking at that person over there and seeing what they’re doing and trying to decide which direction we should go.

A big part of that is just not having your own personal clarity. When things are foggy and the path is not clear, we tend to look around for guidance, assistance or ideas. We have to figure out how to be able to do that responsibly and also gain clarity in the midst of all of that.

So first thing first.  Having good clarity about what you do in your life or business is based on your desires, passion and your purpose. So, one place to start is to make sure that you are clear on those three things.

What is it that you desire most for your life at this stage in your life? What are the things that drive you to be your greatest self? What do you feel is your purpose in life and what is tugging on your heart as a part of that purpose?

Being able to really sort that out helps with the clarity you need to trust yourself.  You have to trust your gut – your intuition and ask the Universe or God for help.

Here is the other thing, because we live a life where we have made decisions in the past and some of those decisions may have brought about tragedy or difficult situations, we lose trust in our ability to trust ourselves. We don’t forgive ourselves for the past and we continue to carry that burden with us into our future selves.

In order to wipe the slate clean and to begin to know yourself better as you move through different stages in life, you have to forgive yourself for past mistakes.

Click to Tweet

That is the only way to begin to rebuild the trust you need for YOU moving forward.  You will never be able to trust other people or your judgment if you are not trusting of yourself.  Stop doubting you!

And lastly, there are some assessments that you can take to help you determine your strengths and weaknesses. Making sound decisions may not be one of your strengths but it is something you can always learn. There are classes you can take on decision making and webinars or conferences you can attend that will help you learn the skills necessary to become better at making decisions for your life or business.

There is always an open opportunity for you to be able to improve yourself and get the skills you need to stop doubting yourself and be a better you.

Listen, we have all been there and we are all in this together. I always call myself a work in progress but I have to keep in mind that the progress I need to make does not begin until I actually start the work. Hoping, wishing and talking about what needs to happen does not bring about change or improvement in your lives.

Talk is cheap. So to see improvements you’ve got to commit to doing the work. I know that it can be scary at times and the unknown is a little fearful but in order to be the best you YOU can possibly be, this is essential.

You must learn to trust yourself! If you feel that you have not had the right opportunity to trust yourself start working today to learn how to rebuild that trust in who you are and what you can do, don’t hesitate!  So you can stop doubting yourself!

Here is a free gift for you.  Get my "Be A Confidence Diva" course as a stepping stone to building confidence and trust in your abilities.  My free course will walk you through the mindset traits for living a confident life. Use coupon BOLD519 for free gift.

What An Impact Your Story Can Make

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Have you ever gone to a conference and people were allowed to come to a microphone and share about their life experiences? Did you ever sit there and think oh my gosh so traumatic, I don’t have anything like that to share?

That was me and the way I thought when I would go to conferences like that and would hear people tell portions of their story. I always felt like my story would be less impactful or less meaningful because it wasn’t a tale of a personal physical or mental trauma.

Yes just like everyone else I have had things that occur in my life that probably seem like the worst possible thing ever but when I compare it to someone else’s story I think of how blessed I was at the time.

We all have stories. And our stories serve a purpose. So I believe, we have life experiences and tests of faith so that we can share them, when the time comes, with the right people so that it provides an impact or a change in their lives. It serves as encouragement, motivation and relief so others will know they are not going it alone.

But most of the time we are afraid or embarrassed to share our stories with others. Because we are so focused on ourselves and how that will make us look. We are afraid of being judged. But.....we should want to share. Here’s why.

You can continue reading or simply watch the video below for blog content.

Why We Should Share Our Stories

When we decide to share our stories with each other it creates a two-way benefit. It benefits the other person by being able to know that they are not the only person that has been through that experience and that they can overcome it. It gives that person hope and strength to be able to see past the issue to the joy on the other side of that experience.

It benefits me because keeping my story inside only serves to increase the heaviness of that situation for me. It is always freeing to let go and open up because in that you also find encouragement and motivation to continue moving forward. It’s like being able to get something off of your chest and feeling that relief. It will begin to help you get past feelings of fear, embarrassment or shame and start to heal.

For me anyway, I begin to embrace it in a new light and see how there are seeds of goodness that came out of that situation when it impacts the life of someone else by hearing my story.

Also for those of you who owned a business as well, being able to have a book that tells your story is a way of building connection with your audience so that they can see how your gifts are being used. We talked about this on my podcast this week and how a book can add credibility to your business and build relationships.

The other thing we seem to always forget is that we are on a heavily populated planet of people and it is that way for a reason. We are not meant to be alone or siloed from others. We are meant to communicate, build relationships, and collaborate with people around us that we know and don’t know. That is how new relationships are made and new friendships are born. That is the way it was meant to be.

So when you start telling yourself this story about you’re being an introvert and you just like being by yourself…… think again. That may just be a story that you choose to tell yourself to stay hidden in the shadows and not put yourself out there and step outside of your comfort zone. It may be a story that does not serve you well. It was for me.

Share Your Gifts

We all have gifts and abilities that other people do not have. My son’s friend, who I’ve known since he was about 15 and he is now 30, makes a mean red velvet cake. It is moist and with just the right hint of chocolate and it is delicious. That is a gift for him and I know this because I have tried making red velvet cakes before and failed miserably. The taste was awful. And I know others who swear by their red velvet cake and they are master bakers but it still doesn’t taste as good as his that he does in my kitchen for me every now and then.

So I keep encouraging him to use that gift. It’s a small thing but it could bring a lot of joy to a lot of people. I think he has a hidden passion that he won’t openly explore because he really likes to bake. I will keep working on him.

Open up and share your stories so that you can share your gifts. Your stories are tied to your gifts and your passions and are meant to be given away.

Have you ever thought about writing a book about a part of your story that’s been weighing on your mind? Well don’t think about it, just do it! It’s as simple as picking up a pen and paper and starting. I know I have several stories inside of me whether traumatic or not that can impact the lives of others and it’s taking me a while to put it on paper but I’m doing it slowly but surely.

As a matter of fact, I have a devotional book that should be out in early 2020.  It is a devotional meant women dealing with life and business.  Don’t worry let you know when it’s available.

Candice Davis, my podcast guest this week, gave good tips on how to do just that. Check out this week’s podcast episode to hear some of my struggles and some of the advice she so expertly gave to overcome those challenges.

Writing a book is a chance for you to learn how to put your story to use to help others and not just keep it inside and let it weigh on you. Sharing that could very well change your life as well.

How To Make A Good First Impression With Your Mailing List

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Your mailing list should be your “business baby”! Agree?

Well then, you want to treat your mailing list with lots of love and gentle care. Same like with your body, you want to be able to nurture and take care of it so that it serves you well for years to come. No difference when we are talking email list.

My podcast guest this week, Dr. Lindsey Elmore, shared practical approaches for health and wellness that would help you to nurture your body in a way that helps it to thrive. Make sure to listen in.  Those practical approaches are designed to help ensure that you are making a great first impression with regards to your mind and body.

You can continue reading or simply watch the video below.

In much the same way, I am going to share some practical approaches with you that can be used to make that great first impression with your audience and your email list. It all starts with the basics of understanding who your ideal clients are and what their most burning need is. You can then begin to nurture them and structure offers that will speak to them directly and make them spark up and take notice of for what you are offering.

When you are very clear on who your message is meant for, it is much simpler to be able to build offers that attract them. One amazing way to do that is with an opt in gift. An opt in gift is a free offer to your clients that will give them a taste of your juiciness and how you can help them solve their problems. This gift should be delivered with high value content for your audience that will address their needs.

A well placed and valuable opt in gift will not only serve your existing mailing list but it will also serve to entice new potential clients onto your list to be a part of your community. How exciting!

Click to Tweet

The free gift and the delivery of your free gift should be done in such a way that maximizes your audiences first impression of your business. You want them to know that you mean business and that you are there to transform their lives and/or business.  You do that by setting up the gift, landing page and a pick up page with bells and whistles that will be able to show them how much you can impact their lives.  It really gives them a chance to get to know you.

When this is done smartly, new subscribers feel endeared to you and your community instantly and everything is clear and simple for them to get to know your brand and how you can impact them.

While they are checking out your community and getting to know you better, you are also sending them emails that builds on and nurtures the relationship with your subscribers. And yes, while you are nurturing and building the relationship you are making offers for them to check out your best stuff. Absolutely!

Granted the offers may be small in dollar value, you want to make sure that they are high in content value so that new subscribers or clients will know the worth of your services.

Don’t be afraid to make offers because isn’t that why we run a business? If you don’t offer people to help them how can you possibly impact their lives?

Are you always looking for ways to make a great first impression on your email list? Then I have just the gift for you. It is my free gift to you with practical approaches on how to do just that. Grab it here.

What are some of your best tips from making a great first impression?

Are You Making Self-Care A Priority?

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Whenever I have a guest on my podcast that talks about wellness and just overall health, I can’t resist the opportunity to talk about self-care. Why shouldn’t I? We all need reminders don’t we?

I spoke with someone recently and they shared how they include at least 10 minutes a day of self-care into their schedule. I thought that was a phenomenal idea. Because if we don’t schedule it, sometimes it won’t get addressed or we won't pay attention. And good self-care should definitely always be addressed. Don’t you agree?

Read the rest of the blog or watch the video below.

My podcast guest this week was Marlisa Brown who is a registered dietician.  Marlisa shared some amazing ways for us to practice good self-care and total wellness.  She focused on things we could do to beat killer diseases in our society.

Want a self-care tip?

When you’re having a bad day, or are feeling down, the best way to increase your happiness, may be to exercise. There is a strong link between exercise and an improvement in mood and well-being.

Give it a try. Go for a 30 minute walk whenever you’re feeling depressed and unhappy. You’ll notice your mood starting to increase throughout the walk. As you get back, you may notice that you’ve feeling even happier.

Click to Tweet

This increase of happiness and wellbeing after exercise is caused by two different mechanisms in our body. The first is that exercise causes the release of brain chemicals like endorphins and other mood enhancers. This happens just a few minutes after you work out and the effect can last for a good 12 hours.

The second part to the equation is that exercise also helps reduce the levels of stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline in the body. That means you’ll instantly feel less stressed. This one-two punch can have a powerful effect on how you feel. Something as simple as a brisk walk can help you feel better almost immediately.

I would think this is one area where you can definitely work on stretching yourself. We have been talking about that over the past couple weeks. Being able to stretch yourself in different ways, in business and in your personal. Practicing good self-care daily is one thing that you can do for your personal growth to get outside the box. For professional growth, check out these opportunities:

The 10th Annual Stretch Yourself Challenge hosted by my mentor Kelly McCausey is focused on helping you to stretch yourself in ways that will help you move the needle on your business.  It is so much fun and the results are always amazing!!!

I started Pilates this week and am committing to 3 days a week with at least a 2-mile walk on the off days. That is my commitment to good self-care.

How are you committing to your self-care?

How Often Are You Getting Out Of The Box?

Kimberley Wiggins Leave a Comment

Would rather watch the video?  Skip the reading and scroll to the bottom to watch it instead!

I am on a quest! Yes, I am.

I am seeking out ways to make me uncomfortable. I know, I know that it’s not the norm but I have found that is the only way to challenge me to move to another level in my business and in my life.

I have been talking about content a lot lately and making sure you are getting the right messaging out to your audience. That is what I’m challenging myself to do at a higher level so that I can fine-tune my message. And there are a few other things I am focused on as well such as better understanding of my business numbers so that I can positively affect them. I am taking courses to improve that.

So I am really stretching myself and stepping outside of my box. What I have learned is that when I push my clients to step outside their comfort zone, they do amazing things and provide greater value in what they do.

What happens when you step outside that box is that you begin to grow and develop and do things that you only wished about in the back of your mind. You grow the confidence to step out and do things you never imagined you were capable of.

My podcast guest and I, Kari DePhillips, talked a little bit about that on the podcast this week and the amazing things that she has been able to do with her business since stepping outside of her comfort zone. She now lives a lifestyle of travel and supporting other women in their laptop lifestyle. Such an exciting journey for her!

Being able to step out of your comfort zone will give you wings you never knew you had. It will give you the permission to be and do the things that you have only dreamed of.

Click to Tweet

So how do you take the first step?

So being able to take that first step may seem a little difficult but most of the time it can be easy especially with the help of someone else that will push you. It’s like you don’t really know what you need because you can’t see it. Kind of like not being able to see the forest for the trees.  So that person that is there can see and they can help to push you towards.

So here’s what I would say, allow yourself to dream big and think radical. Select something that you have been really wanting to try. You may need to research it first to find out exactly how to execute it. But then I would go ahead and plan it out and do it. And what is the worst that could happen?

The worst is that you would have taken the plunge and went outside of the box, you would have learned a lot of cool and amazing things, and you would have conquered your fear of doing the unthinkable. It’s a win-win-win.

So let’s get started right away on becoming uncomfortable so it will be a practice that we get used to and plan for often. Being uncomfortable in your business is what helps you to stand out in this noisy space and help you to bring greater value to your clients.

Need some help with ideas on becoming uncomfortable? My friend Kelly is hosting her Stretch Yourself Challenge soon. It is an amazing opportunity for you to stretch yourself in your business with an amazing group of people who are stretching themselves too. Me included!

It is time to work on a serious project and move the needle in your business as you stretch yourself for a greater business growth. Check it out and join me as we stretch ourselves in ways we didn’t know we could.

Also if you join the Stretch Yourself Challenge, reach out to me as I have a very special deal for those who join the challenge to work with me for 30 days at a very special price of $27. Yes, it is an amazing deal for sure.  You can reach out to me for details and the coupon code with your paid receipt.

What are you thinking about doing to come out of the box?  Comment below and let me know.
