One of the most frequent things that I hear from clients or potential clients is that they never have enough time to get anything done in their business. I must admit that it is challenging indeed to actually have to work a full-time job as well as take care of a family and work a business on the side. It takes a lot of dedication and discipline in order to pull that off successfully. I know because I have experienced it firsthand. It is not for the faint of heart.
But one message that I try to get across to people constantly is that it is doable. With the correct plan in place and time management, it can be accomplished pretty darn good. Think about it. You actually have 168 hours in every single week (yes, we all do). Once we know what we do with our 168 hours each week, we can easily map out a schedule that can help us to squeeze out 3-5 hours a week to work on a business.
That is one of the big tips that Gary Vaynerchuk shares in this article published in Medium with 6 time management techniques. One of his amazing tips focuses on auditing what you’re doing with your 18 hours a day. Gary says, “nobody you know ever made it without putting in the work”. So it is very important for you to pay attention to what you are you focusing on with your time each day.
Are you being true to yourself and actually putting in the work or are you making excuses and plopping down in front of the TV? Are you really finding ways to work on that side business or are you hiding behind I am too tired?
How are you showing up in your business every day with the time you do have?
